Built with artists across backgrounds, borders, and generations.

Founding period2014–2015

ACT was formed through an original circle of 30 artists from 21 nationalities, laying the groundwork for a Black-led company built from the outset through plural collaboration.

Public debut25 August 2016

ACT made its public production debut at Baltoppen LIVE with The Merchant of Venice, inaugurating a body of work now approaching its first decade.

Wider network169 artists from 46 countries have shaped ACT: New Nordic Voices under the artistic leadership of Michael Omoke.

Black-led and radically inclusive, ACT’s resident artists, directors, alumni, and collaborators continue to form a living institutional memory in the Nordic region and beyond.

In August 2026, ACT reaches the ten-year mark since its first public production debut — a significant institutional threshold in the company’s transnational life.
